The Nagasaki Peace Bell

A Chart-Exhibition on the nuclear war of 1945 in Nagasaki

A small chart exhibition tells the story of the Japanese Peace Bell which is connected with the dropping of an atomic bomb on Nagasaki on August 9, 1945. The beautiful copy of the Peace Bell, the “Angelus Bell” of the oldest Christian church in Japan which has survived the horrible nuclear attack on Nagasaki on August 9, 1945, was donated to the Museum in 2009 by the Nagasaki University. Since April 2011 the Peace Bell is freely accessible outside of the museum in an art installation by swiss artist Lucie Schenker.
