Rehabilitation

After several years of travel in escape of his creditors, he settles down in Heiden in 1887. He is already marked with illness. Georg Baumberger, a journalist from St. Gallen, conducts an interview with Dunant. His article, published in the magazine “Über Land und Meer”, draws European-wide attention to the situation of the forgotten founder of the Red Cross. The last station of Dunant’s life – his contact with friends and patrons, and the restoration of his reputation – are documented here. In a reconstruction of part of his room you can see some objects that belonged to Henry Dunant.
